Over the years Nan has worked in a number of mediums. Her personal work consists mostly of oil paintings done on Russian linen. This material is sandy in colour and has a very coarse weave which makes an interesting, slightly textured surface on which to paint. She has a special fondness for the richness that textured surfaces provide. Her favourite subjects tend to be people and art historical objects; although anything that strikes an inspirational chord within her is fair game for a painting.
